Independent Oversight Committee

August 3, 2026 - Oversight Committee Applications Available

The Carlsbad Unified School District has released the application for membership on it's Independent Oversight Committee for the Measure HH bond program. We currently have two positions open. One to represent the taxpayer association and one to represent the business organization position. Potential members will be appointed by the Board of Trustees for up to three consecutive two-year terms. Measure HH (2018) authorizes the issuance of $265 million (Measure HH) in general obligation bonds, allowing the District to plan and build a number of significant school projects, none of which would have been possible without the bond funds.

The Independent Oversight Committee reviews the planned projects and examines costs in order to advise the community whether the District completes the projects in accordance with provisions of the Measure HH bond. The Committee will make periodic reports to the community.

Citizens who may have an interest in applying to serve on the committee can obtain an application packet from the District's web site, below. The completed application can be returned to the District's Business Services office at 6225 El Camino Real, Carlsbad CA 92009, or via email to lgrundler@carlsbadusd.net.
