Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month

Celebrate Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month

November is Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month!

Designated in November by the State of California, Sikh American Awareness and History Month honors the rich history, cultural heritage, and civic contributions of Sikh Americans. For over 120 years, Sikh pioneers and community members have played a vital role in shaping our nation's agricultural, infrastructure, and public service landscapes while upholding core values of equality, selfless service (seva), and community well-being.

Celebrating this month fosters inclusive learning environments, enhances religious and cultural literacy, and builds empathy across our school community. By recognizing the history, triumphs, and ongoing contributions of Sikh Americans, students gain a deeper understanding of our diverse national tapestry. Our school district encourages students, staff, and families to explore the curated resources below to learn more.
