Compassion Day
On Friday, November 15, 2019, Kelly Elementary School hosted their Second Annual Compassion Day. As was the case last year, the event was a huge success with over 60 Staff, Teachers, Parents, Student Volunteers and District Administrators volunteering and running the stations. All students had the opportunity to rotate through the stations and experience what it would be like to have Visual and Hearing impairments, Specific Learning Disabilities, Communication Disorders and Sensory and/or Motor issues. During lunchtime, Kelly Elementary welcomed three special groups onto their campus as part of the event: Roll to Success, an Adaptive Basketball Team, Stoke for Life Foundation and their founder, Charles Web, who is an Adaptive Surfer, and Beyond the Wheels, an Adaptive Dance duo.
