Off Campus Incident - October 27

The Carlsbad Police Department (CPD) shared the following with Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD) staff regarding an off campus incident near Carlsbad High School in the evening of October 27:

At approximately 2045 hours the Carlsbad Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a juvenile subject who had been stabbed in the area of Gayle Way at Monroe St. At this time the investigation is still ongoing.  Please contact Detective Walker with the Carlsbad Police Department if you have any information regarding the incident.

The juvenile subject was not a CUSD student. Carlsbad Unified School District takes safety and security very seriously, and we work closely with Carlsbad Police and other safety agencies to ensure the safety of students, staff and families. We contract with private security at large events like football games, in addition to having district safety staff, School Resource Officers and other Carlsbad Police in attendance.
