On Wednesday, May 21, Carlsbad Unified Trustees discussed a proposed high school Ethnic Studies elective course to be implemented for the 2025-26 school year. Staff provided a presentation that shared the background on Ethnic Studies in California, the process for development of a course in Carlsbad Unified, and the current status of course development.

The course outline will be returned to the Board for approval at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on June 18, 2025.
