Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P)

Funded through Assembly Bill 130, ELO-P provides after school and intersession learning programs for qualifying students that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils. Activities focus on hands-on, engaging learning, enrichment, and physical activities for qualifying students in TK through 6th grade.

Program Components

The ELO-P is offered through the Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) Kids Care program.

  • Hours of Operation: 8:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m.

    • Students enrolled in an afternoon TK class or late owl K class may attend before and after school.

    • Students may be picked up at any time during the program.

  • Days of Operation

    • All school days

    • Holiday Care is available on non-student days throughout the school year

    • Summer Adventure Camp: June 12-30, 2023

  • Location of Program

    • School Days - all elementary schools and middle schools (depending on enrollment, the 6th grade programs may be offered at an elementary school)

    • Holiday Care - 1 school/location to be determined

    • Summer Adventure Camp - 1 school/location to be determined

  • Space is limited.

Enrollment Process

  • Check “Yes” on the ELO-P included in the summer registration/data confirmation process completed through Parent Portal. CEF will reach out to families to confirm enrollment.
